RSCDS Dundee Branch

95th Anniversary Year

Welcome to the website of the Dundee Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Scottish Country Dancing is a very social activity - a good way of meeting people and making friends. It is also recognized as an excellent form of exercise as shown by research carried out by the University of Strathclyde, published in 2010. If you are new to Scottish country dancing, please click on the New Dancers tab above.

We run CLASSES for adults and young dancers, and also have a varied programme of DANCES throughout the year to suit all ages and abilities.

We welcome any dancer or interested person as a member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, whether they attend Branch classes or not. Further information on all the activities and advantages of joining the RSCDS can be found here

Branch News

Dundee Half Day School
Dundee Branch Half Day School will be held on 21st March 2020 in Morgan Academy. We are delighted to have Jimmie Hill along to teach, ably accompanied by Maureen Rutherford. Nicol McLaren and his band will be playing for the evening dance.

Autumn Dance
Over 100 dancers contributed to a fantastic atmosphere at the Autumn Dance on October 19th in Morgan Academy. Marian Anderson and her Band provided some wonderful music and new dancers were warmly welcomed. We look forward to the 2021 Autumn dance when we will have Ewan Galloway and his band to play for us for the first time.

First Foot Ball
We had a full house for the 2020 First Foot Ball on Saturday January 4th and enjoyed dancing to the music of David Oswald's band.
